Gemma brings over 20 years of teaching experience to Load Street, specialising in Primary Music Education and Music coordination in schools. As a professionally trained recorder player, has played the recorder in duets such as Dragonfly with Guitarist Danielle Saxon Reeves in venues such as the CBSO Centre (including a TV appearance), Orchestras (Central England Ensemble) and many versions of the Benjamin Britten Opera "Noye's Fludd". Gemma is also a violinist, performing with the Central England Ensemble and a mandolinist for the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra as well as working in schools as a pianist for school and church performances. With a huge wealth of experience and knowledge in her field, she provides a high-quality, personalised curriculum suited to all learners of all abilities and ages.

Gemma is available to teach Recorder, Violin and Mandolin here at Load Street, offering fantastic weekly 1-1 lessons you can’t miss out on.

She also runs our Music Club, where primary-school-aged children can learn a whole host of musical skills. They receive hands-on, practical sessions that extends their musical and theoretical knowledge, broadening musical horizons as they experiment with exercises and instruments they may not have discovered before.
